Daphne Iking is getting good looking business people to do Indecent Proposals

Image
This guy made Iking a proposition and now the husband's all pissed off and taking him to court with an archaic law that most people didn't even know existed. Malaysia is the land of the free, unless you want to make a pass at someone's wife that is. Funny how the Iking is claiming she has nothing to do with the case and that the husband and her is now separated. The next time you're watching The Breakfast Show on ntv 7 keep in mind that the lady you're looking has probably a lot on her mind. .

French Spiderman Finally Conquers KL's Petronas Twin Towers

Image
Third times a charm, and Alain Robert Philippe finally got to climb all the way up the Petronas Twin Towers. It's quite spectacular to see him on the tower's pinnacles. But what is even more amazing is the coverage we got of him climbing, provided by the employees within the tower itself. Ayy, get back to work la...

A lotta Watch on Malaysia TV

There is a lot to watch on TV these days. There was a time when Malaysians only had a total of 3 TV stations to watch. Unless you grew up in JB, then you'll have a few more channels to surf. In those days, it was common for people to go to work or school and ask if your friend or colleague caught the show you saw last night. That almost sounds crazy now. Thanks to Astro , there are just too many channels , to keep track of. And then theres the Pirated DVD thing... it used to be you'd get to rent a VHS (that’s a 'Video Cassette Tape' for those of you who were born in the 90s) like a year after the movie come out. But now, we get the latest and the greatest movie and TV shows the world has to offer. The local DVD stalls have countless flicks and all of your favorite TV Shows are sold in nice colorful Boxed Sets. Season 1? Season 2? The whole 9 Seasons of The Sopranos? Keng Meng doesn't have the show you’re looking for? No problem, just download it off the...

Dr Gregory Holmes M.D.?

Image
I frequently watch House on a) my sister's or my ex-girlfriend's Astro b) my PC after having downloaded it of the Internet and c) DVDs. We've already explored why I'm so into this show. But merely liking a character in a TV show doesn't explain watching it like a junkie. There must be more to the show than Laurie's good looks and boyish charm. So lets explore my continuous gravitation towards this piece of culture. Let's start with something that has been annoying me for awhile. The differentials sequences: They say a bunch of stuff I don't understand, House take the piss out of everybody, they rule out Lupus talks about autoimmune, argue if it's head problem or a physical problem, House orders a biopsy / MRI scan / CT Scan (are those the same thing?) and a bunch of other tests and the team disperse to carry on their work. Repeat and rinse till things get better. How come I'm always left thinking, what the hell just happened? Am I the only one ...

No. 5: Old-Skool HTTP Streaming (Top 5 Ways to View Video on The Internet)

No. 5: Old-Skool HTTP Streaming Ahhh old skool internet video... Pros: Just works. Usually works with the pre-installed media player which comes with the operating system. Content control. The provider has more control over his video content and how it's distributed. Easy. Just upload the file, put the html tags, and you're done. Cons: User not in control. The Pause and other navigation buttons on the player are usually disabled. Shitty, jerky video. With no way of pausing to wait for video to buffer and download proper, users are often times treated to a jerky incomprehensible mess of a video. Here's how to do it. :

CJ7 – Master of None

Image
AXN is going to be airing CJ7 in January 2009. What? A Stephen Chow movie where he isn't a master at anything? Not cooking? Acting? Not Soccer? Not Kung Fu? I have to admit when it first came out at the theaters, I wasn't actually enthused to go catch it. I say this because, everyone who knows me knows that I'm a big Stephen Chow fan. To me, he's Hong Kong's comedic genius. Years from now, people will study Shaolin Soccer, translate God of Cookery into 5 of the major languages and make it required viewing for anybody who intends to be involved in humorous cinema. His deadpan delivery still makes me cry with laugher, and I don't even speak Cantonese. When I finally got to watching CJ7, my only regret was waiting so long. I remember thinking what a masterpiece. This is easily one of Chow's best works. I don't like giving away detailed movie plots because I feel that it ruins the movie experience. In a nutshell however, it's about a poor single father (...

Happy 2009!

Let hope this year offers better stuff to watch on TV. Happy New Year guys!

Tipah Tertipu Bang, TIPAH TERTIPU!!!

A lot of Malaysians may not realise this, but the phrase "Tipah tertipu" (I, Tipah was conned {that sounds wierd in English}), Originated from this movie called Ali Setan way back in 1985 . I felt the need to point this out less somebody mistakingly attributes this catchy phrase to the band Ruffedge which was later also made into a movie . And who is this familiar person who was responsible of uttering these famous line "Tipah tertipu bang, tipah tertipu"? It's no other than Queen of Jazz her Sheila Majid ! Here have a look at the clip:- .

Rich People Getting Married!

Image
If you ever wondered how your tax ringgit is being put to work. If the KL International Airport was a good idea, or if it was really necessary to build the most spectacular building for the KL skyline, that is the twin towers. Be rest assured that at least some of your money IS being put to good use. Catch the lavish, beautiful grand wedding of some Pahang royalties that no one has even heard of. Go ahead, catch it on NTV 7. Even if you hate weddings. Let it be a reminder that life is not fair and it's better to be born lucky than to be born able. P.S. I love the twin towers and if you hate it, you're probably over 35 and never got to run for office. "A Wedding Story" - Sunday, 9 November 2008 at 8:30 p.m. .

RTM Has Two Websites

For reasons that I can't fully understand, Radio Televisyen Malaysia's (RTM) old/alternative website is still up albeit partialy at: http://www.rtm.gov.my/tv/ Wonder why that is... The current RTM website can be accesed both through http://www.rtm.gov.my and http://www.rtm.net.my  and I want to point out we still don't have RTM streaming live broadcast of RTM 1 and 2 . Which really bums me out.. .

Liverpool and Man Utd playing Tonight, Google EPL

Image
Here are the EPL mathes for tonight (27 September 2008):- 7:40 pm -(L)Everton vs. Liverpool 9:55 pm -(L)Man Utd vs. Bolton Here's a neat little trick to find out what time the EPL games are: Just Google 'EPL' and it will give you up coming game's start times. I didn't think Americans watch football, I mean 'Soccer'... Here's more EPL on Google. P.S. The this search link is for google.com. my  and it will give match times in Malaysian time. So if you're from somewhere else, don't be lazy, go to Google and type in  'EPL' yourself. .

Sign up On the NTV7 website

I just noticed that in order to view the shows on the ntv7 site you have to register first. It takes about 3 seconds, but still? What's the point? The other channels who are offering their videos don't bother. I think doing this just creates another barrier between the audience and the content. Most people are going to go, "Fuck this shit, there's a whole Internet out there why bother with this?". Do you want viewers to access your content online or don't you?
